Required tools:

77754-R2
77754-TL
77917-TL

NOTE: This kit is fully compatible with 95-later 4L60-E units with PWM/EC3 (electronically controlled capacity clutch) control. These can be identified by the 13-pin case connector, PWM/TCC solenoid and PWM pump (five solenoids). All components in this kit are compatible 9394 non-PWM units EXCEPT the TCC apply valve 77805E-Kinstalled in the pump. These units can be identified by the 12-pin case connector, only having a 3-2 solenoid in valve body (four solenoids).

Oversized Throttle Valve

A low throttle boost condition is a common complaint in vehicles with a 700-R4 transmission. This loss of throttle boost oil creates poor line rise and accelerates 3-4 clutch and band failure. In late-model transmissions, the hardened steel throttle valve continuously oscillates in the cast iron valve body bore and eventually wears the three bore diameters. This wear allows throttle valve feed oil to leak past the valve spool and exhaust, resulting in a low throttle boost condition. This excessive leakage can be eliminated by installing the oversized Sonnax replacement throttle valve 77968.

Required tool:

77968-RM

NOTE:

1. Not compatible with early '82-'90 aluminum sleeve units.
2. It is necessary to use Sonnax reamer 77968-RM to re-qualify worn valve body bore.

Tool Kit for 55211-22K and 55211-24K

NOTE: Sonnax F-Tool kits designed to service a specific bore require the VB-FIX, a self-aligning valve body reaming fixture.

• To install 55211-22K, Sonnax oversized base plate VB-06 must be mounted to the VB-FIX to accommodate the pump cover assembly.
• To install 55211-24K, rotate the standard VB-FIX base plate or use the VB-06.
