Oversized pressure regulator valve

• Valve
• Spring
• End Plug

GM 6T40, 6T45 and 6T50 first generation transmissions may exhibit multiple line pressure and converter-related problems due to high wear in the main pressure regulator bore. Wear at the balance spool end allows critical fluid loss, resulting in excess line pressure, harsh shifts, and reduced cooler/converter flow. Wear at the outboard spool robs converter feed pressure and lowers line pressure, resulting in soft shifts and burnt clutches. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized pressure regulator valve kit 144510-01K restores hydraulic integrity for proper line pressure control in all ranges.

• Oversized pressure regulator valve and matched spring restore OE function
• Hardcoat anodized aluminum valve combats premature wear
• Annular grooves help center valve in bore to reduce future side-load wear

Spring B5 control AW55-50 [5]

Package Quantity: 5

Only some Aisin AW 55-50SN transmissions ('05-later units installed in Nissan and GM vehicles) were equipped with a control spring in the B5 clutch control valve line-up. Using a valve body without a spring in those vehicles creates a mismatch between the B5 line-up and the TCM calibration, often causing a harsh 2-3 upshift or 3-2 downshift.

Sonnax offers B5 control spring 59947-33 as a direct replacement for the OE spring. This allows rebuilders to rebuild any suitable core for use in vehicles where the spring is required, or correct shift concerns caused by a missing spring.

500/618 Kit (Superior K500-618 ) Shift Correction Package This valve body kit deals with these problems:

•  Premature band failure • Inadequate line rise • Slow engagements • Premature clutch failure • Lower 2-3 shift MPH • Full time lube • Rapid fill manual valve • Services regular, heavy duty, gas, and diesel * Improves overall performance

1. The K500-618 Shift Correction Package will service all A500 thru A618 hydraulic and electronic units thru 1998. Regular duty, heavy duty, gas, and diesel applications.

2. This package includes a rapid fill manual valve. This valve allows normal converter drainage with motor off but instant fill in park when motor is started.

3. Special lip seal supplied for 518-618 direct drum. This seal delivers better durability and sealing ability.

AFL kit 4L80E

• Valve

• Sleeve

• Long Spring

• Short Spring

• Retaining Clip

The actuator feed limit (AFL) valve in GM 4L80-E units has a large reaction area and is greatly affected by side loading, which wears the valve body bore. The EPC solenoid oscillates the torque signal and AFL oil, which increases valve action and accelerates wear.

As bore wear increases, oil pressure is reduced to the shift solenoids, which causes solenoid and ratio codes. The same AFL oil loss results in lower line pressure.
