Manual valve AXOD(E)

Hard-Coat Finish, Lengthened Spool Diameter

Delayed forward engagement, burned forward clutch, and/or forward clutch psi low by 10-15 psi in vehicles with AXOD, AXODE, AX4N/S or 4F50N transmissions are common complaints. These are often caused by a worn valve body at the manual valve bore, allowing excessive oil leakage. Replace the worn OE manual valve with Sonnax manual valve 96201-05 to prevent oil leakage and increase stability at the linkage.

Pressure Regulator Valve 4T40E Oversized

• Valve is hard-coat anodized to reduce wear.
• Additional spool with flats at the decrease circuit provides additional valve stability and prevents line pressure leakage.
• One valve works in both the early and late OE applications

TCC Valve 4T65E

• Valve
• PTFE Seals (2) 1 extra
• Spring
• O-Ring

With PTFE seal

Symptoms:

Code P0741
Converter shudder
Falls out of lockup when hot
High TCC slip RPM
No lockup

Cause:

Continuous oscillation of the converter apply valve in the cast-aluminum bore causes bore wear that prevents the valve from stroking to the lock-up position.

Correction:

The Sonnax kit provides a positive seal to ensure proper valve stroke, and more valve support to prevent side loading that leads to wear.

AFL valve 6T70, 6F50

In Ford 6F50/55 and first generation GM 6T70/75 units, AFL/solenoid pressure regulator bore wear results in low pressure at the shift and control solenoid valve assembly. The OE valve has a large reaction area and is highly affected by side loading, which wears the valve body bore. As the bore wear increases, oil pressure is reduced to the shift solenoids, which causes solenoid and ratio codes. This also results in lower line pressure.

Sonnax oversized AFL/solenoid pressure regulator valve 124740-01 is a solenoid feed regulator valve that feeds the control solenoid valve assembly. The valve will restore hydraulic control to the shift solenoids.

Valve 1-2 & Reverse Boost 4T60E

• Valve
• Long Spring
• Short Spring
• Coiled Spring Pin

Fits either of 2 locations

The continuous stroking of the 1-2 (forward) and reverse servo boost valves wear away at the valve bore, creating excess clearance and reduced apply pressures. This can lead to 1-2 band slippage, delayed engagements, 1-2 shift flares, and decreased reverse pressure. Sonnax has developed an oversized valve 84754-40K that will restore the hydraulic integrity and more than doubles the valve-to-bore contact area to prevent leakage.

Symptoms:

1-2 Band burned
1-2 Flare Delayed engagement
Low Reverse pressure

Cause:

These complaints may be caused by the continuous reciprocation of the 1-2 (forward) and reverse servo boost valves wearing the valve body bores.

Correction:

This oversized, hard-coat anodized aluminum valve restores hydraulic integrity, and has increased valve-to-bore contact to prevent leakage. This valve requires the use of a Sonnax reaming tool kit.

NOTE: This kit only contains one valve. If both bores need to be repaired, two kits are required.

AFL Valve & Sleeve 4T40E

• Sleeve
• Spring

• Sleeve is made from highly wear-resistant aluminum.
• Sleeve provides significantly more valve support to prevent wear.
• Kit allows re-use of the OE valve.
• Sleeve re-establishes the hydraulic integrity of the AFL circuit by restoring the correct clearance with the OE valve.

NOTE: Always replace the O-rings on the pressure control solenoid and AFL filter O-rings while servicing this unit.

Pressure Valve ZF4HP18/ZF4HP14

Many vehicles with either a ZF4HP14 or ZF4HP18 transmission experience poor line pressure control due to a worn pressure regulator bore.

This bore wear can be verified by testing line pressure and/or performing a Wet Air Test on the valve body. The past fix was to replace the valve body, which is expensive and hard to find. These problems are often caused by wear from the oscillation of the aluminum valve in the valve body bore.

Line/balance, modulated TV, and converter/cooler pressures then leak past the valve and exhaust to the sump or cross leak into other circuits. Excessive leakage can be eliminated by installing the oversized Sonnax replacement pressure regulator valve 85991-01.
