Overlap Control Sleeve MB 722.6, 3-4

Continuous plunger valve oscillation causes wear at the overlap control valve sleeves, allowing modulated oil pressure to exhaust or oppose the shift and create numerous shift complaints in Mercedes 722.6 units.

The highly wear-resistant Sonnax 3-4 overlap control sleeve kit 68942-04 restores necessary hydraulic control tolerances.Highly wear-resistant sleeves restore hydraulic control.

Overlap Valve kit 2-3 722.6

The 722.6 transmission uses clutch-to-clutch transitioning during shifts, so timing is very critical to prevent shift complaints like flares or bind-ups. The overlap valves, controlled by EPC (modulated pressure) and shift valve pressure, are used to gradually reduce the pressure to the disengaging clutch.

The replacement spring and valve ratios maintain OE shift pressures for proper timing and function.

Oversized regulating valve pressure control valve kit

Early & Late

Severe wear of the regulating valve pressure control valve bore results in shift quality and solenoid control issures. The Sonnax kit 68942-17K salvages these valve bodies.

TCC Damper valve 722.6

Late model 722.6 valve bodies added a TCC damper valve at a previously vacant bore in the casting.

This damper valve acts like an accumulator for the converter clutch. If there is leakage due to bore wear, signal oil can leak to exhaust, resulting in harsh TCC apply and lock-up.

Pinless Forward Accumulator Piston Kit

Dual Seal design

Accumulator pin Oversized 4L60E [4]

Package Quantity: 4

A common condition in 4L60-E transmissions is a burned forward clutch or delayed engagement. A worn forward accumulator piston pin bore is frequently the source of this condition. The aluminum piston continuously oscillates on a hardened steel pin, which can cause wear resulting in forward clutch oil exhausting. This oil loss reduces accumulator action and decreases the forward clutch apply pressure. The replacement oversized accumulator pin 77754-01K eliminates this problem.
