• Outer Plug

• Inner Plug

• Solenoid Switch Valve

• End Plug

• O-Ring

Fits bores containing OE switch valve with .453" dia. large spool only.

Solenoid switch valves and plugs in listed Chrysler transmissions cause bore wear as they oscillate and stroke during operation. This wear allows pressure loss and cross-leakage, and often permits the plugs to cock and hang up in the bore.

This can result in failsafe mode, various codes, bind-ups, and burnt overdrive or 4th clutches. In 41 and 42 series units, TCC concerns can result, including engine stalling due to improper lockup.

Reconditioning the bore and installing patented Sonnax oversized solenoid switch valve and plug kit 92835-31K restores vital clearances for renewed operation and control.

• Patented Sonnax plugs redesigned to prevent cocking

• O-ringed end plug positively seals bore

• Annular grooves help center valve and plugs in bore to prevent future side-load wear

• Hardcoat anodized aluminum valve and plug combat premature wear

Symptoms:

• 4th Clutch burned

• Bind-up

• Codes 841, 868, 871, 988, 1775, 1776

• Engine stall (41 & 42 series)

•Failsafe mode

• No lockup (41 & 42 series)

• OD clutch burned

• TCC apply & release concerns (41 & 42 series)

Cause:

Excess bore wear at the solenoid switch valve circuit allows critical pressure loss and causes plugs to hang up in the bore.

Correction:

Recover hydraulic control and prevent valve sticking by reconditioning the bore and installing the patented Sonnax oversized solenoid switch valve and plug kit.

WARNING: Measure large spool diameter on OE switch valve as shown here to verify which Sonnax part will fit the unit being repaired. Some Chrysler switch valves measure .420” dia. and others .453” dia. Sonnax offers repairs for both sizes.

Oversized pressure regulator valve

Valve
Spring
End Plug

GM 6T40, 6T45 and 6T50 first generation transmissions may exhibit multiple line pressure and converter-related problems due to high wear in the main pressure regulator bore. Wear at the balance spool end allows critical fluid loss, resulting in excess line pressure, harsh shifts, and reduced cooler/converter flow. Wear at the outboard spool robs converter feed pressure and lowers line pressure, resulting in soft shifts and burnt clutches. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized pressure regulator valve kit 144510-01K restores hydraulic integrity for proper line pressure control in all ranges.

Oversized pressure regulator valve and matched spring restore OE function
Hardcoat anodized aluminum valve combats premature wear
Annular grooves help center valve in bore to reduce future side-load wear

Symptoms:

Burnt clutches
Erratic line pressure
Low converter & lube flow
Overheating
Poor shift quality
TCC apply & release concerns

Cause:

Continuous oscillation of pressure regulator valve results in excess bore wear, allowing line pressure to exhaust and/or blocking converter feed oil.

Correction:

Restore line pressure performance and renew converter feed by reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized pressure regulator valve kit.

NOTE:

Must use 1/2" or thicker spacer plate between pump body and VB-FIX; see instructions for details.

59947-33

Reference #

Extra information

Spring B5 control AW55-50 [5]

Package Quantity: 5

Only some Aisin AW 55-50SN transmissions ('05-later units installed in Nissan and GM vehicles) were equipped with a control spring in the B5 clutch control valve line-up. Using a valve body without a spring in those vehicles creates a mismatch between the B5 line-up and the TCM calibration, often causing a harsh 2-3 upshift or 3-2 downshift.

Sonnax offers B5 control spring 59947-33 as a direct replacement for the OE spring. This allows rebuilders to rebuild any suitable core for use in vehicles where the spring is required, or correct shift concerns caused by a missing spring.

• Restores valve train response, matching the TCM calibration

• Allows any AW55-50SN valve body to be converted to a spring type application

• Direct replacement, no special tools required

Symptoms:

• 2-3 Flare

• 2-3 Harsh

• 3-2 Flare

• 3-2 Harsh

• Incorrect valve body calibration

• Missing B5 control spring

Cause:

TCM programing anticipates spring control response in the B5 control line-up in certain vehicles. Without this spring, the calibration is mismatched and 2-3/3-2 shift issues may occur.

Correction:

The Sonnax B5 control spring is a direct replacement for the OE spring and it can be added to any valve body in order to match the TCM calibration.

NOTE: Also fits AW55-51SN, AF 23/33 and RE5F22A units. Only some '05-later units were equipped with a control spring in the B5 clutch control valve line-up.

Press.reg.valve 41TES, 42RLE VLP OS

Fits VLP units only

Sonnax oversized pressure regulator valve 92835-29 addresses high/low line pressure, harsh shifts, erratic TCC apply pressures and poor lube control in 41TE(S), 42RLE units. Wear is commonly found at different areas in the pressure regulator bore. Wear at the inner bore causes high line pressure, harsh shifting and erratic converter apply pressure.

Wear at the spring end of the bore allows line pressure to exhaust, resulting in low line pressure, soft shifts and burnt clutches. Wear at this area also will affect converter flow and the lube circuit. The Sonnax valve restores valve-to-bore clearances, allowing the pressure regulator valve to maintain correct pressures in all ranges.

• Sonnax aluminum valve is hard-coat anodized for wear resistance

• Oversized valve has annular grooves to support valve and reduce wear

NOTE: This Sonnax valve fits 41TE(S), 42RLE units with variable line pressure (VLP) solenoid only. VLP units can be identified by the presence of the line pressure solenoid and transducer mounted on the valve body. Non-VLP units can be serviced with Sonnax 92835-24.

Symptoms:

• Erratic TCC apply

• High line pressure

• Low line pressure

• Poor lube oil control

• Shift concerns

Cause:

Worn pressure regulator bore

Correction:

This valve restores the pressure regulator circuit with an oversized pressure regulator valve that returns pressure regulation to like-new function.

Bushing A604 UD/OD Early [5]

Package Quantity: 5

Fits early-style hubs with shaft O.D. of 1.142" and housing bore of .959".

Inner Dia.: 0.837"
Width: 1.220"
Housing Bore: 0.959"
Shaft Dia.: 0.835"

Bushing Style: Precision
Material: Steel-backed bimetal

OE overdrive clutch hub bushings in 41TE and 42LE units often leak critical lube oil due to imprecise clearances with the underdrive shaft. This loss of lube oil regularly leads to planetary damage and shaft breakage. The two-piece OE bushing design allows excess radial movement of the shaft, hastening failure. Installing improved, one-piece Sonnax overdrive clutch hub bushing 92004-SP restores the crucial clearances necessary for optimal performance.

For late-style hubs with shaft O.D. of 1.162" AND housing bore of .937" Sonnax offers overdrive clutch hub bushing 92004-L.
For late-style hubs with shaft O.D. of 1.162" AND housing bore of .941" Sonnax offers overdrive clutch hub bushing 92004-LOS.

Extra information: Save the Transaxle Case by installing our Low/Reverse Clutch Pack Solution with Case Saver Clips Alto#077758... The low reverse clutch steel plates wear grooves into the case. This could cause the low reverse clutch to hang on the grooves resulting in delayed engagement or slide bump engagement. Also this introduces large amounts of aluminum particles into the hydraulic system of the transmission. Install Alto Low/Rev Case Saver pack. The case savers are spring steel clips that fit into the case to give the steel plates a smooth hard surface to interact with. The case saver clips are designed to be installed into all 13 pockets to distribute the force of the low reverse clutch steel elements evenly throughout the case.
