Relay signal valve TF60, TF80

• Valve

• End Plug

This kit can be used in any of nine locations in three different valve body applications.

The Aisin AW 6-speed units TF-80SC, TF-81SC and TF-60SN (VW 09G) each utilize two-spool valves as relay or signal valves. These valves are found in multiple circuits in all valve bodies across the AW6 family and are used to route critical clutch/brake feed and apply oil to the appropriate apply components.

Various shift concerns can accompany ratio or solenoid codes when bore wear becomes a problem in this circuit. The oversized two-spool relay/signal valve kit 15741-49K restores proper clutch/brake feed and apply pressure to the related components by functioning in a refurbished bore that provides correct hydraulic clearances.

• Fits any of nine locations in several Aisin AW 6-speed applications

• Valve is hardcoat anodized to reduce wear

• Annular grooves improve lubrication and valve centering

Symptoms:

• Gear ratio & solenoid codes

• No shift

• Various shift concerns

Cause:

Bore wear prevents proper valve stroke and reduces critical clutch/brake feed/apply oil flow through the various relay/signal valves.

Correction:

Restore proper clutch/brake feed and apply control by reaming bore to match the improved Sonnax oversized valve.

• Inner Sleeve

• Outer Sleeve

• Valve

• Spring

• Retainer

• Sonnax valve is hard-coat anodized aluminum to provide wear resistance.

• Annular grooves have been added to the valve for better centering in the bore.

• The highly wear-resistant Sonnax sleeves provide over 80% more support than the OE casting.

• A new spring is included to allow proper calibration.

Symptoms:

• Harsh Reverse

• High SLT pressure

• Low SLT pressure

• Overheated fluid, bushings & converter

• Poor shift quality

• TCC slip

• TCC surge

Cause:

Bore wear at the spring end of the valve allows the SLT circuit and regulated converter pressure to cross leak. Bore wear at the balance end of the valve reduces converter and lube flow.

Correction:

The Sonnax replacement sleeve and valve kit allows the hydraulic integrity of the bore to be restored after reaming. With the improved materials and valve support, the service life can be extended beyond the OE casting.

Spring adjuster kit TF60, TF80

• Spring Adjusters (4)

• O-Rings (6) 2 extra

In Aisin AW TF-60SN, TF-80SC and TF-81SC applications the oil circuit between the clutch control valve and the adjuster is clutch apply oil. The clutch apply oil opposes the solenoid oil and slows the stroke of the valve in response to clutch fill rate. When the adjuster leaks, both clutch oil and fill rate are affected. Installing the Sonnax spring adjuster kit 15741-48K results in shorter, firmer shifts and less variance across temperature range.

• No special tools required

• O-ring seal improves clutch application and shift quality

Symptoms:

• Flare shifts

• Intermittent clutch codes

• Intermittent solenoid codes

• Long shifts

• Shift quality gets worse as temperature increases

• Soft shifts

Cause:

Clutch pressure loss around the adjuster

Correction:

Sonnax spring adjusters with O-rings eliminate the clutch oil loss, improving clutch application and shift quality.

Clutch cutoff valve TF60, TF80

• Valve

• End Plug

Fits 9 separate locations; see note below.

Clutch cutoff valves in listed Aisin AW, BMW and VW/Audi transmissions are responsible for switching or relaying control pressure in their respective circuits. Over time, bore deterioration allows pressure loss that negatively affects circuit function.

Depending on which bore is influenced, this can result in shift timing issues, harsh or soft shifts, burnt clutches, overheated fluid, and failsafe mode. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized clutch cutoff valve 15741-63K eliminates excess wear for revived shift control in all ranges.

• Hardcoat anodized aluminum valve combats premature wear

• Annular grooves help center valve in bore to reduce future side-load deterioration

NOTE:

• For TF-60SN, 09G, 09K, 09M, 6F21WA: Fits 3-4 transition bore, K3 relay bore & 4-5 timing bore.
• For TF-80SC: Fits C1 shift bore, B1/C3 control bore & shift valve bore.
• For TF-81SC: Fits C3 signal bore, C1 shift bore & B1/C3 control bore.
